Funeral Consumers Alliance of San Joaquin County & The Mother Lode

FCA of San Joaquin County & The Mother Lode

Originally founded in 1976 as ___???___, The Funeral Consumer Alliance of San Joaquin County & The Mother Lode was a 501(c)(4), nonprofit, nonsectarian organization working to protect the consumer’s right to choose a meaningful, dignified and affordable funeral.  Their purpose was to provide unbiased education, outreach, group presentations, local price surveys, and member benefits.  In 2023 the members voted to fold into Life’s End Options (LEO).  Long-serving director Mary Bullard was one of the founding members of LEO.

Member Benefits

The last contract with Park View Funeral Home and Colonial Rose Chapel expired. As prices rose over time,  the amount of the member discount seemed to reduce and in the end, the member price was not greatly lower than the public price.

As the greater benefit to members was to provide information on death care related matters, the board and the members agreed this objective could be better met through Life’s End Options.
